The Alzheimer Society has a variety of educational programs designed to inform Manitobans about dementia. The Society provides general information presentations to community groups. The goal is to create an informed and supportive environment, thereby enhancing the quality of life for people effected by Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with dementia, the most helpful thing that you can do is to become knowledgeable about the disease and the care a person with the disease may need. This might include encouraging family friends to attend an Alzheimer Society public information session. Family members may plan to attend one of the Society’s workshops that discuss the care needs of a person with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia.

As well, the Alzheimer Society partners with community care providers offering in-service education to professional staff groups at their work sites.  The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba’s annual conference offers care providers valuable information about emerging topics in dementia care.  Conference attendees report that “It is always difficult to choose sessions because you want to see them all.”
