Coffee Break Host
time required: depends on length of Coffee Break event
job description: You can host a Coffee Break in your home, at work, or wherever there’s a coffee pot. We’ll supply you with a pound of coffee and some helpful hints to make your Coffee Break a success! Encourage your guests to make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba for their coffee. All proceeds go to support the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba's programs and services.

Door to Door Canvasser
time required: 2 hours in January
job description: knock on 20-25 doors in your neighbourhood to deliver the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's disease and to collect donations and issue receipts to donors for the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
job requirements: We're looking for people who enjoy meeting the public, and have the ability to write/issue receipts and handle money. 

Data Entry Volunteer
time required: Flexible, on call basis. We require minimum three hour shifts, during office hours, Mon. - Fri. 8:30 - 4:30 pm. 
job description: Data entry related to special events and the conference.
job requirements: Experience in data entry, Excel and or Access. You should have the ability to work well on your own and enjoy working in a team environment.

Displays
time required: 2 hours
job description: Hand out information about Alzheimer's disease and/or promote events supporting the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

Memory Walk
time required: 2 hours on the day of the event
job description: A fun-filled summer evening at The Forks in Winnipeg. You could help at the registration desk, point the way as a route marshall or don an apron at the BBQ.

Helpline
time required: Minimum one half-day per week
job description: Provide ongoing support through follow-up calls to clients on the call back list. Training is provided.
job requirements: A basic knowledge of community resources, good communication and problem solving skills, and an ability to respond with empathy and compassion. You must also be willing to attend training and be prepared for a one year commitment.

Meeting Facilitators
time required: 3 hours per month (day or evening)
job description: Plan, coordinate and facilitate meetings for people and families affected by Alzheimer's disease.

Speakers Bureau
time required: Presentations are one hour and displays are 2 - 3 hours. They are mainly on weekdays, but some positions require volunteers on evenings and/or weekends.
job description: Various positions available to present Alzheimer awareness talks and public education displays. Training is provided.
job requirements: Excellent speaking, interpersonal and communication skills. You should also be able to answer questions and direct people to the appropriate resources. You must have a willingness to attend training, and be prepared for a one year commitment.
